As we are based in a rural location there is no public transport within walking distance of Lower Hearson.

Many sat navs direct people to Swimbridge and then suggest they turn into Hannaford Lane. However, this route is extremely narrow with few passing points so we would recommend continuing towards Barnstaple on the A361 until you reach the Bishop's Tawton junction. At this roundabout you turn left, following directions for Bishop's Tawton, Crediton A377 and the Cobbaton Combat Collection (brown tank sign). Continue through the village of Bishop's Tawton on New Road/A377. You will pass a service station as you leave the village and approach the national speed limit signs - at this point take the small lane on your left (signposted Cobbaton and Chittlehampton). Follow this road for approx 2 miles at which point you need to take a light left turn (there is a white house and signposted Hannaford). At the small crossroads, go straight over, following the signage for Hearson. Follow this road until you reach the second turning on the right with signage on a gate for Middle and Lower Hearson and Barn Cottage, take this turn and we are the final house at the bottom of the lane. After you come through our gateway the drive swings to the left and runs in front of the Farmhouse.

Alternatively if you are coming from the South you can travel along the A377 from Exeter and then follow that all the way to Bishop's Tawton. In this case you will need to turn right just before the 30mph for the village starts (signposted Cobbaton and Chittlehampton), and then follow the remainder of the directions above.
