Sleeps 4 (plus infant in cot)
The Annex is popular with families and couples who want a comfortable and well equipped cottage. There is one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, comfortably sleeping 4.
The Annex is a 2 storey property which is attached to the main Farmhouse. We believe this original stone barn is in the region of 400 years old so booking this cottage lets you stay in a building that is part of North Devon's heritage. We are working on restoring the stonework on this property to it's former glory while respecting the history and traditional building techniques employed all those years ago. As a first step we have removed the modern plasterwork from the kitchen wall and have asked a local expert to repoint the wall in lime...just like the original farmer would have used. This is just the first step in our sympathetic renovation of this building.
The entrance porch is shared with the main Farmhouse and from there your private front door lets you enter straight into the open plan dining and kitchen area. There is a dining table with seating for 4 and we can provide a high chair if requested.
The kitchen has a separate fridge and freezer, microwave, electric oven and hob. The cupboards are well equipped with crockery, cutlery, glasses and pans. There is also a dishwasher and washer/dryer making this a very practical cottage for your holiday.
The living room has a TV (with Roku stick) and two sofas so there is room for all guests to sit together and relax. We have also added a small desk so you can easily flip up your laptop if you need to work while you stay with us. In common with all our cottages you will be able to use the fast Starlink Wi-Fi for streaming a film or joining a work zoom call. Make sure you bring your log-in and password for Netflix!
Upstairs there is a good sized double bedroom with ample room for a travel cot (available to borrow for free on request). Next door there is a pleasant twin bedroom with inbuilt wardrobe. There is also a family bathroom with an electric shower over the bath.
Linen for double and single beds is included and beds will be freshly made up for your arrival. Towels are now included at no extra cost.
Guests booking the Annex have free parking for 1 vehicle in our shared car park.
In addition to private use of the Annex guests also have shared access to a number of facilities on site:
- Free high speed wi-fi (Starlink)
- Heated outdoor swimming pool: this is available for guests to use from the May half-term until early September.
- Games room with table football and table tennis
- Gardens - all guests have shared access to the approximately 2 acres of gardens surrounding the cottages. There are picnic benches and garden chairs available so guests can eat or relax around the site.
- Animal feeding sessions
- A starter pack of x2 tea-towels, oven gloves, x2 bin bags, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, compostable washing up sponge, compostable loofah scourer, compostable cloth, x2 toilet rolls, cleaning products for kitchen and bathroom, hand soap
We are not able to accept dogs in the Annex. If you would like to bring your pet on holiday with you then the Threshing Barn could be the perfect option as this is our only dog-friendly cottage.
Changeover days are normally flexible except in some peak weeks when Friday is the standard changeover day. If this doesn't fit with your plans please feel free to contact us and we will see if we can assist with an alternate arrangement.
